Children & Youth Ministries

The Bible tells us in Proverbs 22:6 that it is important to begin Biblical instruction at a young age. This is also an important time for our children to come together and enjoy Christian fellowship with children at their age in a fun and safe environment.

High Point Baptist Church takes seriously the need for salvation. Throughout all of our Children’s Ministries we work to deliver the Gospel and strengthen the need for salvation through Jesus Christ. We offer several Children’s Ministries throughout the week emphasizing evangelism, discipleship, and training the servants of the Christ (Romans 6:18).

Men’s Ministry

In a world filled with secular thought and activities, it is increasingly more important to edify and strengthen the men of the church.

Men in the church are instructed to be workmen, 2 Timothy 2:15a. That we should be sober minded, uncorrupted, and having gravity, being sincere, having sound speech, and that we may not be ashamed, Titus 2: 7-8. It is our desire at High Point Baptist Church to equip, uplift, and edify the men of Christ’s church. We know that as the head of the family the responsibility for rightly dividing and discerning the Word of God is paramount, 2 Timothy 2:15b. That is why we value discipleship through Godly instruction, and we have themed our Men’s group as “Men Of the Word”.

For more details see Men’s Ministry page.

Women’s Ministry

We live in a world full of distractions and false teachers claiming to be Christians. The best way to discern what is false from what is true is to study the Scriptures. The more we are saturated in the Word of God the more will know what is excellent and what God’s will is for our lives.

2 Timothy 2:15 says, “be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” We study and pursue excellence not for our own glory, but for the glory and praise of God as reflected in our lives. This is why our women’s ministry is called “Women Pursuing Excellence.”

Music Ministry

istock_halelujah sheet musicEach week when we gather, it is our joy to sing and make music to the Lord with hearts of thankfulness, teaching and encouraging one another in the variety of songs that we sing. We are always glad to have more voices join with us in ascribing to our God the praise of which He is infinitely worthy!

Our aim in all music making at High Point is to be Bible-saturated, God-focused, Christ-centered, Holy Spirit-enabled, teaching/admonishing, intergenerational, and transformational. This means that we want the language of the Bible to permeate our singing, we want to direct our worship to God, we want to center it on the person of Jesus, and we want to be empowered by the Holy Spirit in our gatherings. It also means that we aim to teach and encourage each other as we sing, to choose music in which everyone can participate, and to allow what we sing to change the way that we live.

Every week a group of people help lead us in corporate worship by singing, reading, praying, or playing an instrument. This is something we love to do as a church, and we hope you will join with us.

Than dwell in the tents of wickedness. – Psalm 84:10 (NASB)
