Announcing Our New Associate Pastor

It’s with great excitement and praise to our Lord in Heaven that the elders of High Point Baptist Church officially announce the appointment of an associate pastor to our congregation.

Following his visit with us in early May, our leadership have officially selected Robert Bennett for the position of Associate Pastor at High Point, where he will oversee corporate worship and music, local outreach, and our biblical counseling ministry. Robert has joyfully accepted the call.

Both Robert and his wife are excited by the opportunity to honor the Lord in service to our church, and it is clear that he is like-minded in our theology and philosophy of ministry.

Robert is a graduate of The Master’s Seminary with more than ten years of ministry experience, serving in various capacities along the California coast and in Denver, CO. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in theology with an emphasis in evangelism, biblical counseling, and hospital and prison chaplaincy. Currently, he ministers as a deacon of Grace Community Church where he is very involved in the music ministry as a vocalist. He is also a certified pregnancy counselor through Heartbeat International and is a dedicated counselor at the Open Arms Pregnancy Clinic in Northridge, CA. He is also a certified instructor for the Malachi Dads prison ministry, Grace Community Church’s “Fundamentals of the Faith” class and AWANA, and is actively pursuing his certification in biblical counseling through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). Prior to attending seminary, Robert provided pulpit supply to a variety of churches while he and his wife traveled throughout California as guest musicians. Before entering the ministry, Robert worked as a certified computer and technology technician and as a manager for both Staples, Inc. and Office Depot.

Robert and his wife Terri also serve together in Grace Community Church’s deaf ministry and have two adopted children. Terri is a certified sign language interpreter and is currently pursuing her M.A. in English as a Second Language.

We look forward with great eagerness to many years of ministry with the Bennett family, and we glory and thanks to God for providing us with the means to bring another godly shepherd to our flock.

Please keep an eye out for more information as we anticipate Pastor Robert assuming his role in our local body this summer.
